A new version of Most Popular Solitaire is now available. Most Popular
Solitaire is a small collection of 30 of the most popular solitaire games,
including Klondike, FreeCell, and Spider. It is intended for those who only
play a few of the most popular games and aren't interested in the wider
selection of 660 games in Pretty Good Solitaire.

Featured Games - Calculation FreeCell and Selective FreeCell
------------------------------------------------------------

The new version 11 of Pretty Good Solitaire features two new FreeCell
variants - Calculation FreeCell and Selective FreeCell.

In Calculation FreeCell, the deck is dealt out exactly as in FreeCell. The
foundations are built up as in the game Calculation. That is, the first pile
is built up in suit by ones from an Ace (normal), the second pile is built up
in suit by twos from a Two (2, 4, 6, ...), the third pile is built up in suit
by threes from a Three (3, 6, 9, ...), and the last pile is built up in suit
by fours from a Four (4, 8, Q, ...). Each pile must be a different suit, of
course, but you can choose which pile is which suit.

The tableau is built down by alternate color as in regular FreeCell, except
that you can play Kings on Aces. Everything else regarding play on the
cells is the same as FreeCell.

In Selective FreeCell, the game is also dealt out as in regular FreeCell.
The only differences between Selective FreeCell and regular FreeCell is
that at the beginning of the game you have the option to choose the
foundation base card (it can be something other than an Ace). You then
build the foundations up in suit from that base card, wrapping from King to
Ace as necessary. In the tableau piles you can also play Kings on Aces.

Both games add complications to the regular FreeCell. They also add new
choices for the player for strategy. As posted in the forum (see
http://www.goodsol.net/forum/messages/10/2436.html ), this may make
some of the rare deals that are unsolvable in regular FreeCell solvable in
Calculation FreeCell and Selective FreeCell.
