FreeCell Plus Version 4.00
---------------------------
http://www.goodsol.com/freeplus

FreeCell Plus is one of our oldest games. FreeCell Plus is a collection of 8 FreeCell
type solitaire games, including FreeCell, Sea Towers, and Eight Off.

Version 1 was released in 1996 and the most recent version 3 was released in 1998. Version 3 was a great version, but it was designed for Windows 3.1. In
1998, we released the larger FreeCell Wizard, which made FreeCell Plus somewhat
obsolete. Then with the release of 64 bit Windows Vista and 7, FreeCell Plus
version 3 would no longer even run on these new versions of Windows. After 12
years, it is about time to update it.

FreeCell Plus version 4 is now available, and it works not only on Windows Vista
and Windows 7, but also on Mac OS X. It can be downloaded from
http://www.goodsol.com/freeplus/download.html .

FreeCell Plus version 4 is a free update to all FreeCell Plus users (most of whom
bought the game in the period 1996-1998). If you purchased FreeCell Plus, you
will need a new code for the new version. You can request the new code at
http://www.goodsol.com/freeplus/regusers.html

In addition, because there is no Mac version of FreeCell Wizard yet, we are giving
away the Mac version of FreeCell Plus to all people who have purchased FreeCell
Wizard in the past. FreeCell Plus does not have as many games as FreeCell Wizard
has and does not have a wizard, but it will give FreeCell Wizard owners a way to
play FreeCell on the Mac. If you are a FreeCell Wizard owner, email me at
support@goodsol.com and I will send you a link to download the full version of the
Mac FreeCell Plus.

FreeCell Plus can be ordered from
http://www.goodsol.com/freeplus/orderonline.html for only US$9.95. The full
version includes an additional 4 bonus games, for a total of 12 games. If you
order now, you will also get access to both the Windows and Mac versions.

Featured Game - Baker's Game
----------------------------

Baker's Game is a variation of FreeCell. Baker's Game was invented by C.L. Baker.
It was described in Scientific American in June 1968.

Baker's Game begins by dealing out all 52 cards into 8 tableau piles. The first 4
piles will have 7 cards, the last 4 only 6 cards. This is the same layout as FreeCell.
All the cards are face up, which makes Baker's Game an open game.

The object of Baker's Game is to build 4 foundation piles up in suit from Aces to
Kings. In addition to the foundations and tableau, there are 4 cells. Each cell is a
storage place for one card. Any available card can be moved to an empty cell, and
cards in the cells can be moved either back to the tableau or to the foundations.

The tableau piles are built down by suit, instead of the alternate color building of
FreeCell. Moving groups of cards is not strictly allowed in Baker's Game. However,
you can move groups of cards as a shortcut. If you have all 4 cells empty, for
example, it would be possible to move a group of 5 cards in sequence down by suit
by moving the top 4 cards to the cells, then moving the 5th card, then moving the
4 cards back from the cells to reform the group. The effect of this is that the
number of empty cells determines how many cards you can move as a group. It is
very important to try to keep the cells as empty as possible so that you can move
more cards around in the tableau. Another effect is that clearing a tableau pile also
greatly increases the number of cards you can move as a group, since the empty
pile can be used not only to store one card, but an entire group of cards. Since
building is more difficult than in FreeCell, all of these strategies are even more
important in Baker's Game than in FreeCell.

Baker's Game is much harder to win than FreeCell. Average players win it about
35% of the time.

Baker's Game is one of the 8 games in FreeCell Plus at
