| · | 4 foundation piles (far right) - build up in suit from Ace to King, then another King, and down in suit back to Aces.

| · | 16 tableau piles (center) - build up or down by suit (once a direction is selected, it must remain for the rest of the game) . Only top card available for play. Empty piles are filled by the waste or stock. At the start of the game 1 card is dealt to each pile.
