| · | 4 foundation piles (far right) - build up in suit from Ace to King.

| · | 7 tableau piles (across top) - build down by alternate color. Only the top card of each pile may be moved to the foundations, another tableau pile, or a non-empty fan. Spaces may be filled by any available card. At the start of the game 1 card is dealt face up to the first pile, 2 cards to the 2nd pile, and so on.

| · | 8 fans (across bottom) - build down in suit. Only one card at a time may be moved to the foundations, tableau, or another fan. Spaces are filled only by a card from another fan (not from the tableau). At the start of the game 3 cards are dealt face up to each pile.
