| · | 9 tableau piles - the top card is available for play. Discard pairs of cards that have ranks that add to 9 (8-A, 7-2, 6-3, 5-4). Tens, Jacks, Queens, and Kings are discarded as a set (10-J-Q-K). Nines are discarded singly. Spaces are automatically filled from the stock. To discard a set of cards, move each card to the reserve pile in the lower left. When a 10-J-Q-K set is formed, or when cards of rank 8 or under add to 9, the cards are automatically discarded to the waste pile. Pairs of cards that add to 9 can also be discarded by dropping one on the other. At the start of the game 1 card is dealt face up to each pile.
