Octave

Top  Previous  Next

2 Decks. Easy (80%).  Skill/Luck balanced.

Object

To move all the cards of rank 10 or less to the foundations, and to have 8 piles consisting of 3 cards (King, Queen, Jack) down by alternate color in the tableau below the foundations.

Layout

8 foundation piles (top) - build the Aces up in suit to Tens.  At the start of the game the Aces are dealt here.

8 tableau (below foundations) - build down by alternate color.  Only one card at a time may be moved.  Spaces can be filled by any card. At the start of the game 3 cards are dealt face up to each pile.

stock (face down, bottom left) - turn over 1 card to the waste by clicking.  1 redeal.  When the stock is redealt, it is dealt out to 8 waste piles.  Each card is available for play on the foundations or tableau.  Spaces are filled automatically from the stock.  When no more moves can be played from these waste piles, clicking on the stock will turn over 1 card to the original waste pile.  If this card cannot be played the game is lost.

waste (next to stock) - Top card is available for play on the foundations or tableau.

Options

AutoPlay

Notes

Octave is unusual in that not all cards are played to the foundations.  Only Ace thru 10 are played up to the foundations, the King, Queen, and Jacks remain in the tableau.
