Layout
• | 4 piles (top left, with X's) - build from first card (comes from center card of Groups below), from King to Ace as necessary. |
• | 4 Groups (below ) - Each group contains 6 cards in a pyramid formation. The middle card (the center) is face down. The two cards to either side of the center are the Wings. When uncovered, the center is turned over automatically and becomes the card of a pile. Only cards that are not blocked by another card are available. Available cards in Groups can be played to the , , or , if possible. Wing cards, when removed, can be replaced by a single card. |
• | 4 piles (far right) - build , from Ace to King as necessary. Groups of cards may be moved regardless of sequence. Spaces can be filled by any card or group of cards. Top card is available for play on the , , or Wings. At the start of the game 6 cards are dealt face up to each pile. |

Tips
• | It is necessary to uncover the center cards ( cards) as quickly as possible. Play cards to the as necessary to uncover the center cards. Once you get all the started, then you will want to get the cards out of the pile again. |
History
Suspenseful is loosely based on the game Suspense from Albert H. Morehead & Geoffrey Mott-Smith's book The Complete Book of Solitaire & Patience Games. The layout is similar, but the rules have been greatly modified.
