| · | 8 foundation piles (middle, upper and lower) - build the upper 4 piles up in suit from Ace to King (one for each suit), the lower 4 down in suit from King to Ace (one for each suit). No cards can be played to the foundations until the stock and waste are empty.

| · | 8 reserve piles, also known as the "Equator" (center) - storage location for one card. Only 1 card allowed in each reserve. The card is available for play on the tableau piles, and on the foundations when the stock and waste are empty. At the start of the game 1 card is dealt to each pile.

| · | 24 tableau piles, also known as the "Zodiac" (around all the other piles) - build up or down by suit, Aces and Kings are not consecutive. Sequences can change up or down within the same pile. Top card is available for play on the foundations when the stock and waste are empty. Cards cannot be moved from one tableau pile to another. Once a card is played to a tableau pile it cannot be played anywhere except to the foundations. At the start of the game 1 card is dealt to each pile.
