Dear Solitaire Player,
Crescent is a popular two deck fan type game.
My version of Crescent in Pretty Good Solitaire allows you to play offline, full screen, with complete undo and my unique right click quick move. It's the best way to play solitaire!
There are eight foundation piles. The left four piles will be built up in suit from Ace to King, the right four piles down in suit from King to Ace. The game is won when all cards are moved here. When the two piles of a suit meet, cards may be transferred from one to the other. At the start of the game an Ace and King of each suit is dealt to each pile.
There are 16 fans. At the start of the game six cards are dealt to face up to each fan. Building is up or down by suit in the fans, wrapping from Ace to King or King to Ace as necessary. Only one card at a time may be moved. Spaces are not filled.
There are three redeals (redeal by clicking on the empty stock). A redeal takes the bottom card of each pile and moves it to the top of the pile. All other cards remain in the same order.
Some versions of Crescent have all the cards of each fan pile except the top card face down. However, turning all cards face up adds some element of skill to the game, making it an open game (all cards face up).
An average player wins Crescent about 30% of the time.
