Dear Solitaire Player,
Double Acquaintance is a 2 deck Sir Tommy type game.
My version of Double Acquaintance in Pretty Good Solitaire allows you to play offline, full screen, with complete undo and my unique right click quick move. It's the best way to play solitaire!
There are eight foundation piles. At the start of the game the Aces are all dealt here. These piles are to be built up regardless of suit to Kings. The game is won when all of the cards are moved here.
There are eight reserve/tabeau piles. One card is dealt to each pile by clicking on the stock. At the start of the game one card is dealt to each pile and the rest of the cards form the stock. There is no building on the reserve piles, the top card of each pile is available for play on the foundations. Play begins by moving any available Twos to the foundations (by clicking), then any Three can be played on a Two and so on. When there are no more moves, clicking on the stock deals another row of cards to the reserve piles.
When all of the cards have been dealt out, there are two redeals which pick up the cards and deal them out again a row at a time as needed.
Double Acquaintance is a two deck version of Acquaintance, which is the game Auld Lang Syne with two redeals. Double Acquaintance is easier to win that Acquaintance due to there being more cards in play. An average player can win nearly every time.
