Warning! - Pretty Good Solitaire may be addictive. We are not responsible for lost productivity, neglected spouses, children, or pets. We are not responsible for lost sleep because you stay up to play "just one more game".
There are eight foundation piles. All play is moving cards to these foundations. The game is won when all of the cards have been moved here.
The foundation piles are built down regardless of suit, wrapping from Ace to King as necessary, from different starting ranks for each pile. The first pile starts with a King, the second pile starts with a Queen, the third pile starts with a Jack, the fourth pile starts with a Ten, and so on. The last pile begins with a Six. The first King that comes up in play may be placed on the first pile. Other foundation piles cannot be started until the foundation to its immediate left has been started.
Therefore you must first play a King on the first pile, then you can play a Queen on the second pile, and so on in addition to building on the piles that have already been started.
All of the cards are dealt to a stock. You can move one card to a waste pile by clicking. There are two redeals.
An average player wins Precedence about 12% of the time.
An easier version of the game is the game Succession. This is the same game except a King is laid out at the beginning of the game in the leftmost foundation pile.
