Superior Canfield is a varation of the classic game Canfield. It is a one deck game.
There are four foundation piles. At the start of the game, a card is dealt to the first foundation pile. The rank of this card, (for example, if it is a Seven of Hearts the rank is 7) becomes the base rank of the foundation piles. The piles are built up in suit from this rank, wrapping from King to Ace, until each pile contains 13 cards. The game is won when all of the cards are moved here.
There are four tableau piles, which are built down by alternate color. Move groups of cards if they are in sequence down by alternate color. Spaces are filled by any card. At the start of the game 1 card is dealt to each pile.
13 cards are dealt to a reserve pile. The top card of this pile is available for play on the foundations or tableau.
The remaining cards form a stock. This stock is turned over to a waste pile three cards at a time by clicking on the stock. There are unlimited redeals. There is also a rules option in the game - you can change the 3 card deal to a 1 card deal (easier).
Superior Canfield is easier than regular Canfield in that you can move any card to an empty tableau pile (rather than having a card dealt there). Also, you can see the entire reserve pile, so you know what is buried there.
An average player will win Superior Canfield about 45% of the time.
