Dear Solitaire Player,

Agnes Bernauer is a variation of the game Klondike. The cards are dealt out to seven tableau piles. One card is dealt to the first pile, two cards to the second pile, and so on. All the cards are face up.

My version of Agnes Bernauer in Pretty Good Solitaire allows you to play offline, full screen, with complete undo and my unique right click quick move. It's the best way to play solitaire!

How to Play Agnes Bernauer Solitaire

Seven cards are dealt one each to seven reserve piles. There is no building on these reserve cards and they are available for play on the tableau or foundations. The remaining cards in the dealt are dealt face down to a stock pile.

One card is dealt to the first foundation pile. The rank of this card becomes the base of each foundation pile. The 4 foundation piles are then built up in suit from the rank of this first card dealt, wrapping from King to Ace as necessary, until each pile contains 13 cards (for example, if the first card dealt to the first foundation pile is a Four, the piles are built up from Fours up to Kings, then Aces up to Threes). The game is won when all of the cards are moved to the foundation piles.

In the tableau, building is down by alternate color. Groups of cards may be moved as a unit if they are in sequence down by alternate color. Spaces are filled by cards with rank one card below the foundation base card (for example, if the first card dealt to the foundations is a Four, as above, spaces are filled by Threes).

When all plays up to the foundations and all plays moving cards in the tableau are completed, clicking on the stock will dealt one card to each tableau pile. There are no redeals.

Agnes Bernauer is named after the wife of a Duke of Bavaria. It is similar to the game Agnes Sorel.
