Up or Down is a one deck Klondike type game. It is one of the 40 new games in Pretty Good Solitaire v18.0.
It looks just like Klondike. There are four foundation piles, they are to be built up in suit from Aces to Kings. The game is won when all of the cards are moved here.
There are seven tableau piles. They are built up or down by alternate color (which is how the game gets its name). Move groups of cards if they are in sequence down by alternate color and/or up by alternate color. Fill spaces with Kings or groups of cards with a King at the bottom. At the start of the game 1 card is dealt to the first pile, 2 cards to the 2nd, and so on. The top card is face up. In short, Up and Down is Klondike with building up as well as down in the tableau.
The remainder of the cards form a stock. The stock is turned over three cards at a time to a waste pile. The top card of the waste pile is available for play on the foundations or tableau. There are two redeals.
As a very close variation of the standard game Klondike, Up and Down will be very familiar. It is slightly easier than Klondike played under the strictest rules.
